Shipping Information (all prices are $USD)

WHAT SHIPPING METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?

We use the U.S. Postal Service and Canada Post, as well as UPS courier. We can offer expedited shipping if necessary, but we can't always rush our print partners, so our delivery estimates are pretty much set in stone. No harm in asking, though. We aim to dispatch all orders (ideally) within 10 working/business days after payment has been received – sometimes sooner! We ship to customers from Alberta, Canada, or Seattle, Washington. We ship to Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, or elsewhere: contact us for a special shipping quote.

WHAT ARE YOUR ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES?

We strive to ship your product/s out within 10 working days (not including weekends) of your paid order. Delays may occur among mail or courier services due to weather or special days (e.g. Black Friday, Christmas, Nov. 3, 2020 U.S. voting day, etc.) for our printers and shippers. We also cannot be held responsible for courier mishaps or losses.
*Important: We cannot be held responsible for unusual or unpredictable delays to the U.S. postal system. Let us know if you prefer a private courier. Try to order your print/s two full weeks before you need it, particularly if there is a long weekend in that period – remember, we aim for delivery to be SENT OUT 10 working (non-weekend) days, but often earlier.

HOW DOES MY FRAMED PRINT GET SHIPPED?

Unframed fine art prints and unframed canvas prints are shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube. Framed and stretched canvas are shipped as a cardboard flatpack. If you have more than one framed print, the shipping cost can climb quickly, due to increased weight (they weigh about 3 lbs. each with the box). Ask us for a custom quote if you prefer!

CAN I CONTACT YOU TO CHECK ON THE STATUS?

Sure, after you receive a notification that the item has been paid for. Just keep in mind that we are on Pacific Standard Time (PST) here on the West Coast. We don't always work on Sundays but otherwise we endeavour to respond within 12 to 24 hours. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a second request or email. You will also receive regular email status updates.

HOW MUCH WILL SHIPPING COST?

That's something that will ideally be calculated when you check out. We use standard USPS and Canada Post rates. If your item is an unframed print shipped in a tube, that can often be done for about $20-$25 USD. If we have to ship a wooden frame or a stretched canvas, the cost is obviously based on size, weight and location. Shipping costs can increase quickly if you order more than one framed print (they weigh about three lbs. each, with the box!). If shipping cost is a concern, you may want to order prints only and get them framed locally (although our framed prints look pretty darn good). Contact us if you have any concerns!

All prints are made to fit standard NORTH AMERICAN frame sizes. Custom and European orders are available upon request.

TELL ME ABOUT MOUNTING/MATTING/GICLEE PRINTS

Our fine art printing partners provide computer-controlled, custom and standard picture framing mats. They usually print on acid-free white mats but custom mats are possible, on request. Any mounts/mattes and frames depicted in our shop are for example purposes only and are not included in the sale, unless you order and pay for your art work framed, matted, mounted, or stretched on canvas.
We add a small, standard white edge around each giclée print to make it easier to frame. The white edge is approximately 1/4" to 1/2" in width and is hidden behind the mat. The printed area is exactly as stated in our listings and does not include the white edge. If you do not intend to use a mat, the white edge can be easily trimmed off. Please let us know if you would like our printers to remove this edge.

 Example of mat sizing: 11 x 14 7.5 x 9.5 8 x 10 16 x 20 10.5 x 13.5 11 x 14 20 x 24 15.5 x 19.5 16 x 20 24 x 36 19.5 x 29.5 20" x 30 30 x 40 21.5 x 31.5 22 x 32

EVERY MONITOR IS DIFFERENT. HOW CAN I BE SURE ABOUT THE COLORS?

We have made every effort to accurately describe materials, sizes and colors of all the items that we have presented for sale.

Please note that the apparent color of the images may vary slightly from one computer monitor to another. It's probably a good idea to double-check our website from a good-quality computer, in addition to your mobile device or phone.

Our partners at Shopify say: "When you view an image on your online store, the colors in the image might look different from those in the original that you uploaded to Shopify. This can occur when an image has a color profile, which is a set of data stored in a file with a .ICC or .ICM extension. Color profiles are often embedded into images to help standardize the way that the colors appear on different devices. When images are displayed on your online store, their color profiles are removed. Color profiles are removed for a few reasons: Not all devices are able to read .ICC or .ICM color profiles, so keeping them intact can result in inconsistencies in image colors across devices.
"When an uploaded image doesn't include a color profile, sRGB (the most common color profile used to display images on the web) is assumed by the web browser. This ensures that your images look the same across all major web browsers and devices..." *If you have any questions prior to purchasing, please feel free to contact us and we can talk about color profiles!

I SEE A WATERMARK ON YOUR PRODUCT IMAGES. WHY?

Watermarks protect original photography or modified images such as those on our Shopify site and are for preview purposes only. We put a lot of work into restoring and enhancing these art pieces from their digital original (usually a scan or photo of a vintage, stained, dog-eared original of the source magazine) so they look fresh and unmarred, to the best of our abilities, without losing character.

The image that is used to produce your print or canvas will, of course, not have a watermark on the bottom!

WHAT IS CANVAS STRETCHING?

Our fine art printers will print a fine-art quality print and then stretch it onto good-quality wooden stretcher frames (see Checkout for pricing). With canvases, there is extra that needs to be printed for the gallery-wrap sides to enable stretching over .75" (or 1.5" on request) wooden stretcher frames; we take care of that. A mirrored edge will automatically be used for the wrapped edge (the wooden frame edge) unless requested otherwise.

WHY DO SOME PIECES HAVE MARKS OR DATE STAMPS ON THEM?

We often can't do anything about postage stamps, stains, or handwriting captured on the digital scan or photo of the original digital record – if a mark was on that original, particular, physical issue of the publication, it's part of history. Think of it as adding character!

WHAT MATERIAL ARE YOUR FRAMES MADE FROM?

All frames are real wood (not plastic) and come in black or white, unless you request a custom order.
